Liebre II Hi, let me add a new chapter to the story of the TC class (TC = Turismo Carretera, we can translate as Road Tourism). The cars, the roads, the regulations and the whole class had been evolving. The starting grids featured a terrific mixture of cupecitas, standard cars and prototypes. It was the most popular sports of the country, even more than football. This meant money, so the car manufacturers got involved in the TC class. First they sponsored the standard cars. This is logical, they were interested on selling standard cars, not cupecitas nor prototypes. However, they changed their minds when they noted that the prototypes were the faster ones. Thus, the car manufacturers started sponsoring (and managing) the prototypes. Here we have a nice sample: the Liebre, sponsored by IKA (Industrias Kaiser Argentina). It consited of a Torino body and engine, a Renault Gordini windscreen and roof, and all the rest was fiber glass. There were several units produced, different colors, different drivers. I have three Liebres, let me show it in order of manufacture/production: white metal by Carlos Jodos, year 2000 resin by Gustavo Ambrosio, year 2011 Salvat partwort, diecast, year 2014 This series allows to appreciate the evolution of the available models, the evolution of my collection, and the evolution of my camera! That's All Folks! Gaucho Man

Ford Falcon Angostado This is another case of the Car Manufacturers entering in the competition. Ford allways supported the slogan "win on Sunday, sell on Monday". However, they considered that if people saw a prototype winning, they would not relate it with their standard model, the Ford Falcon. Therefore, they decided to make a prototype with the aspect of a standard Ford Falcon. This was the standard Ford Falcon. The new car was named Falcon Angostado, which is like saying "Thinned Down Falcon". It was a Ford Falcon cut in the middle and welded again so that the result was a shorter and thinner car. Big wheels and V8 engine instead of the standard Ford inline six, the result was not nice at sight, but it meet the Ford requirement of a prototipe resembling the Falcon. The model is made of resin by Gustavo Ambrosio, as usual, scale 1/43. FINAL NOTE: As you can see, I am very motivated with this forum. I am really happy to share our history and my collection to people outside my conutry. It is tiresome because I have to write in English, trying not to bore with useless data, but detailing background to understand each car and each model. Hope you do not get tired of my posts. Let me know if you prefer a slower frequency. That's All Folks! Gaucho Man

Love that car, no regard for aesthetics but just making it go fast.
We love your contributions! Please keep them coming, you could always use Google Translate if it's hard to write in English.

Yes, we love your contributions, but please don't feel any pressure to 'rush'. Many of us have been friends here and other forums before this for years, so take your time display your collection, even if its takes a whole year (or longer).
