Those exquisite details... Those exquisit details are driving me crazy, I have to admit! It's incredible how elaborate this design is, and especially to free-form parts like the rear lights bring me to the edge of my model building abilities...
😲👍 FANTASTIC! Yes, I am old enough to remember and share many of you sentiments about phones. Cheers! Thanks! Meanwhile I get familiar with my new smartphone, although I still don't know where to put in the crank for winding up...
Absolutely stunning, as usual! 🖤 Thank you so much!
Dankeschön!
Didn't know whether to make this detail, but it was to tempting: The grey one has these weird headlight-holders (the black one doesn't), and so I made the complete construction myself.
When the headlights are mounted, not much is visible, but it's nice to have!
As I build 2 x the same car, I want to have one with hood down, one with hood up. The original hood has quite a nice shape, but as I lengthened the wheelbase, the hood is too short, of course.
Some soldering will help...
It was quite a tricky work to have the bottom edge perfectly fit to the body. Unfortunately there was no preparation for fixing the hood without glueing, I must construct something later.
The hood was also widened, and now I have to make the side windows. Some templates were printed out to cut out polystyrene sheets. The adhesive tapes give a perfect surrounding edge.
Putty is applied to the hood and then immediately put in place.
Putty has set.
And now the templates and the tape can easily be removed.
Many other works were necessary: making ridges on top of the hood with 0.2mm wire, drilling two half holes at the front corners for clicking the hood onto the windshield frame, finishing the surface, cutting out the rear window, priming painting, adding trim... Finally it looks like this!
The rear window frame is "sunk in" that means it gives one smooth surface with the hood.
And of course the hood is detachable, to have a look to the interior. Work for a complete week...

Amazing! Love that soft top, I can see it was a lot of work but the result speaks for itself.

Amazing! Love that soft top, I can see it was a lot of work but the result speaks for itself. Thank you! Although I changed the "collar" of the passenger cell, the original top indeed fitted perfectly therein, so that I had at least one part to start with...
Absolutely amazing!!! Thanks! In fact it was an amazing work of the Erdmann & Rossi designers, who created those magnificent cars which almost reach French designs of that era.
I can only echo Tom and Julio, amazing! ...and I echo, too: Thank you so much!
Great work as always Jean ...and really hard work, I must say! The original plan was to have all eight Horch ready past spring, and now it's almost winter and I've completed numbers five & six... oh, boy!
The headlight lenses. I wanted to try a quicker setting resin, but failed! Due to the quick hardening, there remain many bubbles. However, I don't want to start all over again and will use these lenses, anyway...
Oops! This is not my cat, but one of the cats of my neighbour-in-house. Last year the wonderful white one of my neighbour died, I felt so sorry. As a "spare cat" my neighbour got this one, and he's so funny - I mean the cat! I regularly serve him some cream, perhaps his fur will become white, this way. And he already learnt to open doors by using the handle, imagine!
Further details added.
Searching lights mounted.
Radiator grille and headlights completed.
Remaining lametta mis en place - I guess I'm ready!
This car still exists in full size, but the new owner removed all details, had it "pebble-beached" - terrible! I've tried to create the version as the car may have looked like originally.
Thanks to the detachable soft-top, the interior is still visible.
The show-car only had blank licence plates, but I don't like this, so I created a fantasy number.
That was the sneak preview, full set of final photos will follow tomorrow!

Thanks for posting on a Saturday instead of a Sunday evening when I'm on a train and have to download your pictures on terribly slow Dutch Railways wifi... You've created two more masterpieces. I keep saying that your latest creations are my favourites yet, that's because you keep pushing the boundaries on detailing and finish. There are too many details in these models to mention and they all come together perfectly.

But I'm sure you could view the pictures tomorrow, as well Thanks for your compliments, it's always great to meet & greet friends here on MS43, I enjoy sharing my work here very much!
Thank you, it's been a hard work this time, and I guess I had a sort of artistic crisis during the past twelve months, but I feel that works might go on better now.
OMG! They both look amazing! I wish I had your talent for building models! Believe me, you do have the talent! Just do it! You don't need many tools for the beginning, but simply need some patience. Just follow single steps of my blogs, you can improve any model with a few small things.
Gentlemen, I have made dozens of photos today, all with my still new smartphone. Unfortunately, I still do not master all the functions & tricks to make good photos with it, it's too different from my old SLR camera. So the following collection is more a random selection of impressions than my usual ordered photo stream. I promise to learn how to handle the camera (it's an iPhone 14 pro), and perhaps I can submit better pictures, soon.
