The usual high quality we've come to expect from Tamiya. Nicely executed too! Absolutely, it all goes together very well. Cheers Tom That engine is looking nice already! It's turned out quite well, though don't look too close
Further progress
Inlet manifolds glued into place
Building up the silencers and painting the exhaust manifolds
Adding the rear ARB to the subframe and painting the rear brakes
Painted silencers, rear brakes, exhaust manifolds and rear hubs
Painting the rear lower wishbones
Painting the rear subframe, rear shocks and the driveshafts

Engine looks ready to hook up and fire. Learn any new swear words working on the suspension?

I didn’t know that you painted some of the parts still attached to that thing (I don’t know its name) where they are cast! 😬

Love the suspension detail. Very nicely moulded as you'd expect from Tamiya Engine looks ready to hook up and fire. Learn any new swear words working on the suspension? Pretty realistic isn't it. No swear words so far its all gone together very well. I didn’t know that you painted some of the parts still attached to that thing (I don’t know its name) where they are cast! 😬 Where it can't be painted in situ I will paint them on the sprue where I can. You then just need to touch in the attachment points when you cut it off
Catching up with the progress from the weekend
Detail painting the driveshafts and rear shocks
Silencers attached to rear subframe
Engine mounted as well
Painting the upper front subframe, steering rack and front shocks
Adding the exhaust downpipes
Painting the floorpan
Downpipes and silencers attached together
Rear hub and disc built up and detail painting the rack
Both rear hubs built and detail painting the front shocks
Driveshaft and rear hub added
Painting the rear upper subframe and the airbox
Painting the floor underside
Lower wishbone added and detail painting rear upper subframe and airbox
Hub and driveshaft added on the other side
Other lower wishbone added and further subframe detail painting

You are more than welcome - more obscure English words avaialble on request That looks fab, hope you can still see all that detail when it's assembled. Cheers Tom
Like with most of these once the body is on, a lot of it out of sight. Tamiya helpfully have provided a separate engine cover, so I'm hoping I can make that functional
Some further progress
Fitting the other 3 rear shocks
Fitting the front ARB to the front subframe
Turns out the car Tamiya based the kit on had a two-tone brown and beige interior
Painting the dash a fetching shade of brown and a front hub assembled
Beige for the cabin, both front hubs assembled, handbrake painted
Detailing the dash and a painted accelerator pedal
Lovely brown for the centre console, red for the engine cover surround and handbrake finished
Rust brown for the carpets, black for the engine cover grille and pedals and the silver for the gearstick
Black for the centre console buttons and the seats painted
Front hubs and steering rack connected and added to the front subframe and painting of the door furniture

Now that the fiddly engine and suspension stuff is done, you're charging ahead! Some fine work there, love the beige interior with red paint.

Now that the fiddly engine and suspension stuff is done, you're charging ahead! Some fine work there, love the beige interior with red paint. Yes it's moving apace now but still plenty to do. Thanks Tom. Colours go well i think Super results so far Andy! Looking forward to more! Cheers Jerry, very kind of you Looking great! That interior will be fabulous! Thanks Julio. Very much colours of the time especially a brown interior!
Further progress shots
Upper and lower front subframe together and painting the door furniture for the other side
Front shock in, detail painting the door furniture and wheel centre caps
Both front shocks in and further door furniture painting
A major step, required big clamps to get the rear subframe onto the floor as attachment points small for the size/weight. Slow setting gel superglue required so i could adjust
Several hours later
Front subframe fitted. This fitted with barely a need for glue
Bulkhead/firewall being built up
Painting the rear lights
Bulkhead in the booth
Fitting the coils
