Here are more old photos of members of my family and cars…
This one is probably the oldest and it looks like some sort of photomontage. The man in the middle, with moustache, is my great grandfather (maternal side) Manuel Clouthier, the woman with the big hat with stripes is my great grandmother Luisa, and the two girls are my grand aunts and the boy with the hat is my grand uncle Manuel! I haven’t been able to identify the rest.
My other maternal great grandfather was German and, when the Mexican revolution began in 1910, he took his family to the US, first to New Jersey (where he had many relatives) and then to Texas. Here are my grand uncles Oscar and Martin Karg, on a Ford model T, somewhere in the US.
My grand aunt Carmen, with a car (unknown make) that belonged to my grand uncle Martin, somewhere in Texas.
Two of my grand aunts with friends. I think that the car was my great grandfather’s Moon, but I’m not completely sure.
My great grandmother Sara (sitting second from left) and my grand aunts Carmen, Eva and Guadalupe Karg with a friend (the oldest lady) in El Paso, Texas. The car (unknown) belonged to the man that ended up marrying one of my grand aunts.

My uncles Sergio (with the pedal car) and Alfonso, they were my mother’s oldest cousins.
My great grand uncle Delfin Ruibal (paternal grandmother’s side) with his Buick and some friends!
My paternal grandfather Virgilio Castro and his Ford model A, in California.
My paternal grandfather Virgilio (far left) and some colleagues and a Ford (?), during one of their business trips.
My mother (far left) and two of her cousins dressed as Spanish ladies, at a festival in Mexico City, during the mid fifties.
My mother (right) and her cousin Margarita with my grandfather’s 1953 Chrysler Windsor in Mexico City.
My mother (left) and her cousin Margarita, with her father’s Ford.
My mother in my grandmother’s brand new 1958 Plymouth Belvedere.
My mother (right) and her cousin Luisa, with the ‘58 Plymouth.
My mother (left) and her cousin Margarita with her father’s 1958 Pontiac. Three years later, my parents used that car during their wedding.
My father and his first car, a Renault!
My mother and her first car, a Vauxhall!
My mother and her cousin Martha, with my father’s Volvo. Shortly before my parents got married.
My father and the Volvo, during my parent’s honeymoon. They drove to Acapulco!
My brother and my father’s Ford Falcon.
My aunt Olga and the Falcon.
My brother and my father’s Rambler Ambassador. This car originally belonged to my grandfather and it was traded for a brand new Rambler American in 1970.
Me, washing my first car, a 1977 VAM (AMC) Gremlin.
A good friend and I (left) with my Gremlin, in 1979.
My brother with my uncle Alex’s brand new 1979 Cadillac in San Antonio, Texas.
My brother and I with the Cadillac during new year’s eve (1979-1980), in Texas!
Two of my cousins with my mother’s 1978 Chrysler LeBaron in the background. I loved that car!
My brother with my father’s 1979 Ford Fairmont.
My mother and father with my dad’s brand new 1983 Ford Mustang, the day he bought it!
My brother and his first car, a 1985 Ford Topaz (Ford Tempo in the US).
I hope you enjoy reading this post as much as I did writing it!
