What's not to like - LM, quirky marque, bunch of professional and amateur drivers, race finisher. I'd say it was a no-brainer for you.

The BMW looks great Andy. I'm very much look forward to this one arriving. The Courage isn't anywhere near as attractive, but as it finished just outside the Top 10 I'll add one anyway. It's a super model well worth the wait I'd say
The relatively good finish was the clincher for me on the Cougar, but there's something about it. Maybe i've always had a soft spot for a Cougar Very nice Courage, 11th is pretty good considering the problems it had. It wasn't a bad finish all things considering. The C26S despite it's pedigree wasn't that successful a design unfortunately. Courage is forever linked with LM, and this one gets the thumbs up from me- their back story tells you just how tough it can be to keep going for 24 hours. It is and to a degree remains so having been absorbed into Oreca. LM is stough and merely finishing is a major achievement
I do too What's not to like - LM, quirky marque, bunch of professional and amateur drivers, race finisher. I'd say it was a no-brainer for you. Nothing at all. Summed up beautifully Martin.

Although the 962 was designed and built by Porsche as an evolution of the legendary 956 perhaps a lesser known fact is the originally designed aluminium chassis wasn't considered stiff enough which lead to many private teams re-engineering the car or in some cases designing and then building completely new chassis onto which the teams would then buy the rest of the car from Porsche to create their own cars. One of the various chassis redesigns was performed by John Thompson of TC Prototypes, whose design was taken up by Brun Motorsport who would go on to build 8 in the late 80s but also 2 further cars were built by TC for Obermaeir Racing who would take delivery chassis 901 in early 1990 for a campaign in World Sportscars including Le Mans (DNF) that year with mixed results. 1991 saw further limited outings including Le Mans (DNF) before in 1992 it was entered in only one race which was to be its final outing, being of course Le Mans. With the new WSC regulation now in full force the old Group C cars which were still eligible for Le Mans were placed in the C3 class which mainly consisted of 962s and anything powered by the 3 litre Porsche turbo unit and so Obermaeirs car driven by Otto Altenbach, Jürgen Lässig & Pierre Yver was up against Kremer CK6s, 962 GTis and Cougars and the trio would qualify 16th overall and 5th in class. Race wise it was pretty steady reaching 11th by 6 hours in and then dropping back after a spin required new nose and tail sections so by half distance they were in 15th which would become 11th again at three-quarter distance and then finally in the 22nd hour 10th which is where they finished,3rd in class after 297 laps.
Spark - Porsche 962C - 1992 Le Mans 24 Hours - O.Altenbach, J.Lässig & P.Yver - 10th

Very good result for what was by then a car that was becoming outdated regardless of its chassis. I like the 956/962 and have various models of them from the olden days. This is one that I'd like but to pass on as I have spent too much on models and need to address bills etc for the time being.

It just looks like a proper sports racing car, no wonder they were successful. Top notch addition.

Looks good Andy, especially with the high rear wing which was fairly rare at Le Mans. I wonder if this was the wing which they used at the start of the race, or if this was the replacement?

Nice, purposeful looking model! Certainly looks the part Very good result for what was by then a car that was becoming outdated regardless of its chassis. I like the 956/962 and have various models of them from the olden days. This is one that I'd like but to pass on as I have spent too much on models and need to address bills etc for the time being. Can only agree, but even more impressively, Obermaier came back the following year with the sister car and went 3 better. With the outstanding success of the 956/962 I have a whole host of them, so I thought just one more wouldn't hurt!
That's a looker. Good clean livery too. I thought so too and with the quality result it had to come here It just looks like a proper sports racing car, no wonder they were successful. Top notch addition. It does exactly that and 3rd time lucky it seems. Thank you Looks good Andy, especially with the high rear wing which was fairly rare at Le Mans. I wonder if this was the wing which they used at the start of the race, or if this was the replacement? Cheers Ian. Yes most have the low drag set up, so this is a nice change. As far as I can tell, they started and finished like this

For 1993 Courage developed a new car for the Group C2 class which was the first to bear the name Courage after Ford established the right to the name on behalf of voracious older women worldwide, sorry my mistake on behalf of a Mercury (surely the planet has the rights to this name) that no one in Europe ever saw endurance racing on a track and never competed in Group C.
Anyway the new Courage C30LM was developed specifically for Le Mans and three would be built still utilising the 3 litre Porsche turbo engine coupled with a Porsche gearbox and based on a revised (heavily) 962 chassis design. Chassis 011 was first seen at the Le Mans test day in May and then entered for the 24 Hours with the driver line up of Derek Bell, Lionel Robert & Pascal Fabre who would qualify 11th. Initially the race went well with the car reaching a high of 7th after 4 hours but 2 hours later it was back in 14th and from there it was very steady so by half distance they were in 12th where they stayed for 6 hours before gaining a place an hour later and then another in the 20th where they remained to the end coming home 10th overall and 5th in class after 347 laps.

Nice, 10th ain't bad as to finish is an achievement in itself. And driven by a certain D.Bell is the cherry on top.

Another great looker Andy, another great add! C2 cars would make a super collection by themselves.
