Very nice Andy. I have it on pre-order too, but who knows when it will actually appear in this part of the world.

I do like that, what a great shape. Hard to resist, in fact. Impossible i found. Bell, wheels, shape, result were all factors Any car driven by the LM master is a worthy addition. For sure. Couldn't pass it up Nice, 10th ain't bad as to finish is an achievement in itself. And driven by a certain D.Bell is the cherry on top. Very much so. Just reaching the flag is a good result, top 10 even better. Bell onboard makes it a certain addition You had me with the BBS wheels...... let alone the other attributes the car and model have. They were certainly one of many reasons this came home Another great looker Andy, another great add! C2 cars would make a super collection by themselves. Thanks Jerry. I can confirm they do Very nice Andy. I have it on pre-order too, but who knows when it will actually appear in this part of the world. Cheers Ian Strange that they get here first which is much further away. Worth the wait though

Volkswagen introduced the third generation Passat in 1988 utilising a stretched and widened version of the A platform used for the Golf, making this the first Passat to feature a transverse engine mounting opposed to the previous versions which were based on Audi platforms with longitudinal engine mountings. Originally introduced with a range of 6 petrol engines from 1.6 to 2.0 litre and a single 1.6 diesel and front-wheel drive the range would expand to include both the supercharged G60 1.8 and the 2.8 VR6 plus a 1.9 turbo diesel and would include all-wheel drive on selected variants. Production lasted until 1993 when it was replaced by the next generation which was ostensibly a heavily facelifted version except for the US where the VR6 continued through 1994. The model previously shown by Tom is a 1998 GT which had (in the UK) a 112hp 1.8 litre 8v engine which was shared with the Mk2 Golf GTi of the time.

I have no idea why you got this, terrible.
Kidding, love it. Been waiting for a quality model of this car for years and it doesn't disappoint at all.

What a well executed model of this gen Passat! Would love to see this next to a Minichamps Alfa 164 in the same shade! Absolutely as above Ixo have got this to a tee I can't help with that. My 164s are black and red
Great looking model of that Passat! But…, what is it doing in this thread? 🤔 Indeed it is that Julio
Well it's a VW from my favourite VAG era and it's a nice model of a good looking car. And I like to add the occasional road car

Like Julio, I was surprised to find this here. Handsome car and Ixo have done it full justice. I think that's because I rarely add to my road car collection these days unless it's something that takes my fancy.
As Ixo did this fine car so well and for a reasonable price too, it had to come home

Ferrari returned to the top tier of motor racing in 2023 with the 499P, which was developed to meet the Le Mans Hypercar rules for the FIA World Endurance Championship. It is powered by a version of the 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 found in the 296 GT3 which puts out 671hp however it is mounted as stressed member in the Ferrari designed and styled Dallara built chassis which also has a 268hp electric motor mounted on the front axle which gives the car semi-permanent four-wheel drive.
Chassis 12 10P numbered 51 debuted at Sebring under the Ferrari AF Corse banner with a driver line up of James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi & Alessandro Pier Guidi and the trio would finish 9th in the Prologue and 15th in the 1000 miles followed by a 6th a Portimao and then 3rd at Spa. Then the trio set the fastest time at practice for Le Mans a week before the race and followed that up with a 2nd in first qualifying and 2nd again in Hyperpole behind the sister No.50 car. In the race they maintained their second place for the first hour, but then a combination of pit stop cycles and safety cars would find them in 9th after 2 hours, back to 2nd after 3 and then back to 9th after 4 however after 6 hours they were in the lead which they maintained for 2 hours. A loss of control and subsequent recovery for trying to avoid a crash ahead saw the car drop away to 5th after 9 hours but by the halfway mark they were back in the lead though they lost it in the next hour to the No.8 Toyota who held the lead for the following 3 hours until it hit a squirrel and the subsequent loss of downforce and slow puncture meant that in 16th hour No.51 retook the lead.
Despite briefly losing the lead to the sister car due to having to power cycle the car No.51 was never again headed all the way to the flag where they finished after completing 342 laps with a winning margin of 80 seconds making it Ferraris 10th win at Le Mans and the first since 1965.

These are very impressive models. Should be for the price. That aside it's why we enjoy this hobby....sorry obsession.
