That looks great! A proper late '60s design, very handsome. Thanks Tom. I also like the white version and was even contemplating getting both but eventually plumped for just the one. Vignale are not held in quite the same high esteem as some of their rivals but they have produced some beautiful cars. Your book must be a treasure trove of stunning automotive design. When these models were announced I was doubtful that Matrix would go to the trouble and cost of getting the different details correct - they haven't always done so in the past. So, well done Matrix - 10 out of 10 for effort.

That's a wide range of subjects that you show us! Strangely enough I haven't seen anything that we share in common from your last arrivals..

That's a wide range of subjects that you show us! Strangely enough I haven't seen anything that we share in common from your last arrivals.. Doesn't really surprise me as none of the above subjects fall under the banner of concept cars. This one does however.... Matrix Alfa 33 Spider Cuneo 1971 This just about completes my collection of late 60's/early 70's Italian concepts. Despite it's wedginess it has never really appealed to me but I had to complete 'the set' of course. It's a shame that the much more interesting original P33 body was removed to be replaced with this one. Matrix Mercury Templeton Saturn 1950 A large, wasteful 2 seat special. A one-off custom put together with bits of Chevy, Dodge, Hudson, Mercury and Pontiac.... If that was wasteful, how about this.... Autocult Arzens La Baleine 1938 A 7 metre/23 feet long 2 seater based on a 1928 Buick chassis, called the whale for obvious reasons. The designer, Paul Arzens also produced the complete opposite in the form of the electric L'oeuf Electrique or electric egg which was a tiny city car. This car is also available as a model MMA - Microcar models Australia..... It looks good but it's really tiny and at 220 Australian dollars it's very pricey. It's actually made here in the UK by SMTS and all production is shipped to OZ so besides the high initial cost, we in the UK and Europe, where surely most of the demand will be, will be paying through the nose for this one. Surely a European distributor could be appointed to get these models to their core market.

Nice additions! I really like the grill of the Arzens. Hence the name...
Tempting to collect all the Alfa 33 versions Matrix is doing lately, but for now I prevented myself from ordering them.

All those are wonderful. Just my kind of madness.

Coincidently, I was notified this morning that my 33 Cuneo has arrived at a store in Sydney, so I should have it soon! Of course it is my favourite of this lot, although the microcar is interesting.

I’d be lying if I said that I like the looks of any of these, but they are undoubtedly unique and fit beautifully in your great collection!

Ahh my eyes.. The Templeton is just a car designer's nightmare The Arzens Whale is massive, I wonder why you don't consider collecting trucks, probably they would take less space than those 4-wheel monsters Cuneo is on my backorder list so that one is coming home soon.
Thanks for the info on the Egg, I was not aware there was a 1/43 model of it!! I would definitely add that one if Autocult made it some day (fingers crossed!!).

The big blue bomb has a cool factor to it but I would not call it attractive or cohesive.

The Arzens is pretty ugly from the grille back, but it is pretty unusual which is why I like it. The Alfa concepts are nice and I'm pleased that Matrix have helped me to pretty much complete my 1960's wedgie collection. I have been spoilt by Matrix and Autocult over the past few years. Can't say these were on my most wanted list but as you say they are just my kind of madness. The Alfa was a must have. I would like the Egg but with a high initial price tag plus postage and customs charges for a 5cm model its just not worth it. Pretty ugly bunch aren't they? Paulius, I agree these are ridiculously huge (and hugely ridiculous), but they're outliers in my collection; if I started collecting trucks I would soon have no space for furniture, wife or any other usual house contents. MATRIX SWB VIRAGE TEST MULE Aston were developing the Virage and in order to keep the new look car under wraps they clothed the prototype in this SWB Lagonda body. Unusually, AML had the foresight to save the unique coupe and sent it to AM works where it was comprehensively rebuilt and finished. I was going to leave it to Marcel to post this but I'm not sure he's going to get it! I wonder if they'll do the one-off convertible which is quite handsome .

I still want a production Lagonda, but this is pretty cool too. Nice model.

That actually looks better than the 4-door Lagonda - wedge-tastic.

I’ve hovered over the keyboard on this one and would have bought in a heartbeat if it had been a production car.
