Figures in racing I know too little about. I fear that if I start reading, that will lead to another expensive collection of diecast.

I have the Alberto Ascari book from that Ludvigsen series and could see myself adding the Gurney one.

Figures in racing I know too little about. I fear that if I start reading, that will lead to another expensive collection of diecast. There is some real interesting stories when you listen to the people that were there, behind the scenes. I have the Alberto Ascari book from that Ludvigsen series and could see myself adding the Gurney one. You would not be disappointed. Just a couple Corvette books today. I bought this one directly from the Author. And like everything else Dave Friedman does, this is a great look into the GS Vettes

Nice. Another car I should buy a book about. There will be more Corvette books once I get to the street car shelves. Some books on specific subject, some may have been shown before, it is tough to classify some of these in an order that makes sense to me. Another excellent Dave Friedman book on a great subject. Shame that this is the only book on Penske that I know of, it is OK but bot great. What is not to like, this book is Fab! Great reference book for whenever I see a car that I have no idea what it is. Another good one for tracking down what something is. Now I start getting into the Ford stuff. This will take a while. Highly recommended, heavy on text. And this is heavy on pictures. Some great stories in this one. And this one

What a great racing library you have Jeff! I take it you were also on the Classic Motorbooks mailing list for years?
The Trans Am and Targa Florio titles stand out!

Great books, I have the Friedman ones and the Holman Moody, might have a couple of others too. I was browsing in the excellent original St Martins model shop some years when Lee Holman came in, nice guy and he gave me his business card to put into my collection of NASCAR race cars. I need that Targa Florio book though, one day I shall have to visit Sicily and have a look around.

Lots to like here. Another library where I could easily spend a few days, if not weeks.

The Trans-Am book would be welcome here, very much a great era of tin-top racing.
I also need to add the Targa Florio book -I've looked at it a few times but never hit buy.

What a great racing library you have Jeff! I take it you were also on the Classic Motorbooks mailing list for years? The Trans Am and Targa Florio titles stand out! Lots of what I have came from CMB and the early years of Amazon when it was still a book seller. Everyone whe ever encounter Lee Holan has said the same, he must be a very good man. Lots to like here. Another library where I could easily spend a few days, if not weeks. I would figure on weeks..... I would enjoy thumbing through some of those! I think you would enjoy them. But, books covering cars more to your liking will be coming, I promise. Wonderful titles! I have the Targa book, but would like to add a few of the other titles! The good thing about books, we never run out of wants. The Trans-Am book would be welcome here, very much a great era of tin-top racing. I also need to add the Targa Florio book -I've looked at it a few times but never hit buy. A very enjoyable one. And I know the TF book would be right up your street. Continuing on the Ford theme, this will be a recurring one after all, I am a Ford person. And there is no better Ford than the GT40.

I can remember seeing the JW/Gulf GT40s racing at Brands Hatch in what was known as the BOAC 500 in 1968/9, they won in 1968 and I was a delighted 13yo. There were of course privateer GT40s racing too and how can you not like such an iconic car? Speaking of which I took my '59 Impala to a car show today and went for a wander to see if there were any interesting trade stands. I spotted a model car vendor still setting up his wares and went over. Now normally these vendors have how can I say it, kind of rubbish stock. This guy though had Spark, Ixo etc. Thus somehow I ended up with three Spark GT40s, a Spark 1967/8 Mirage (okay it's a slippery GT40) and a 3 litre Capri from the 1980 Spa 24H. My bank card was a tad hammered.
