It's a must-see for tourists interested in cars, a world-class collection in a great building (designed by an American). Julio will recognise the author. Bought in the 1990s and full of original press shots, the books are in better condition than the pictures suggest. Shame about the stupid error on the cover (Sportauto's should be a single word).

I recognized him, indeed! Interesting looking books. Don’t you just hate when editors commit such mistakes, as the one you’ve indicated!

An old (1992) book that I found at the Concours yesterday for the price of a cup of coffee. Covers the first four generations in decent detail, more of a leaf-through-and-reminisce book than a reference work. Great to have though This is a great reference. Lots of pictures, details and contemporary advertising

Nice cabrio duo - one might appeal just a little bit more than the other for me

I was going through some boxes and found these. Did a quick shoot. Borgward- a retrospective. In German, black and white and low quality paper and print, so likely a private edition. Chock full of info, lots of text but mediocre picture quality Heavy, large and excellent A bit generic but nice to leaf through. I call these 'toilet books', you can easily read from them during a short sitting Love this one, old drawings and old typography. Shame that most are black and white Really generic, dated and shallow. Nice pictures though Someone thought I was into old bikes. I am to a degree, and this book shows mostly pictures which is about the depth of my interest in the subject Another one from the same series as the Aston Martin book. Press shots and old ads. Nice book

Very heavy, superb layout and print quality, very odd though- pictures of classic Volvos side by side with pictures of trees (with some info about car and tree). I fail to see the connection but it's a work of art Quite entertaining A book about the New Beetle that connects its history with the real Beetle. Other than the logo there is no connection, so this is a bit tenuous. Very nice layout though

Varied and quite interesting selection! There’s one that we share and many that I’d love to browse through!

Thanks Julio, the same goes for your collection! Picked this up at the local thrift store yesterday for EUR 3. It’s mint but it's in Italian... oh well, I can always look at the beautiful pictures if I don't understand every word. Very nicely made book

Nice find Tom.
My book shelves would be many times larger if I purchased every Alfa book in Italian that I saw.

Yeah, if I didn't like the 164 so much I wouldn't have bothered. Still a strange find in a Dutch thrift store.

That is one of my favourites, Jeff. My Volkswagen book arrived this week. It was sold as secondhand but it's clearly never been read. The author's Australian which explains the heavy Australian bias. Also, only black and white and not as organised as i'd like it, and 20 years old. Still, it has lots of info and it's the only book on the subject This was a chance find for next to nothing at my local thrift, where they clearly had no idea about the market for books like this. Big and heavy, 350 pages of goodness. Superb pictures, love it

It’s a pity that the VW book wasn’t up to what you were expecting it to be.
