Thanks gents, it was a pleasant surprise. If I'd had the time I'd be reading one now. I've leafed through every book and there's some great info in there.

That's a great collection for 1.95 each, even I would have bought them for that price. I do pop into a few charity shops when in town and have found some good stuff in the past but nothing of late. One shop sells smaller books for about two pounds and large for £2.50. I look mainly for transport or military books and love getting a bargain.

I've left more books than I've taken over the years Paul, about trucks, buses, planes, boats... space is limited enough as it is (there is no more space actually, I really need to rethink my bookcase) and I have more than enough books that I've not yet read. In fact I got a '90s book about Mustang history for € 3.50 yesterday. The Volkswagen books are now in my toilet as reading materials for my 'relaxing sessions' which is a great way for me to read.

More bargains. I love the local thrift stores as you never know what you'll find- it might be the 100th 1980s book on supercars, the history of Porsche, Rolls-Royce or whatever... or a completely obscure limited edition book that you've never seen before, like this tome on Renault’s flagship models over the years, published upon the introduction of the Safrane (the what now? The successor to the R25). I thought that for EUR 2.50 I couldn’t go wrong and indeed, it's good reading A friend ordered this for me in an online book sale because he knew I'd be interested. He was right, it's good reading (though it’s somewhat annoyingly neither a coffee table book nor an in-depth reference). This might be a gateway for me to the series of design house books that more of you have been collecting

Excellent bargains, who knew that the world needed a book about the Safrane? I think I may have ridden in one, I recall it was the big Renault and it was comfortable. My charity shops have not had any good books in for quite a while, not that I have any space left on my book shelfs. Mind you I do have space on the floor where the piles of books and magazines are now taking up space.
