Fab stuff Jerry! That's part of why my phone gets charged every night, even though it can go three days without...

Love these show car reports, no matter how big OR small! Jensen-Healey looking good but for me that Datsun 2000 just about steals the show! Haven't seen one seemingly that perfect in ages.

Interesting turnout, but it does confirm my suspicions that I don't know very much about American cars - if it wasn't for the badges I would be lost. One suggestion though, these meets seem to be top heavy with US and UK cars, perhaps to need to track down that GTV again .

A friend of mine here in good old England does own a '57 Ford two door wagon, his is the Del Rio which i think is the base model. Years ago, well in 1977 I think, I bought a '58 Chevy Yeoman two door wagon, I was well ahead of the long roof craze :-) It lives on in Finland. Some very nice cars at your C&C, I do like that Plymouth and the '57 Olds with the J2 tripower option looks stunning.

On Labor Day I took a trip up the Susquehanna River over Peter's Mountain. My primary reason was to play with the car in the twisties as I just upgraded the rear anti-sway bar and did a bit of tuning. The car is a 2022 Outback. You'd be surprised how much fun they can be with a bit of work. The boxers low center of gravity really helps the handling. It was pretty much fogged in at the top of the mountain so not much to see there, but I decided to head a bit farther up river to Millersburg. Millersburg is a quiet little riverfront town that is home to the last double stern-wheel ferry boats in the United States. They are also the only ferries that still cross the Susquehanna anywhere along its 444 mile length. The ferry has been in continuous operation since 1817 and in addition to being an attraction it is still very much a viable transportation operation subject to Coast Guard inspections and with licensed captains at the helm.

How splendid is that ferry? I love it, nice that in a modern world something so gloriously old fashioned (in a good way) is still operating. Wonderful.

I knew you guys would dig that ferry. It is remarkable that they are still a part of the transportation system. They are made from white pine and require extensive maintenance over the winter months. There is also a river wall that is used to keep the depth up at the crossing point. It needs to be maintained and is subject to inspection by the Army Corps of Engineers. The cost for a car and passengers is just $15.00. Pedestrians and bicycles cross for $5.00 and horse and buggy is $20.00. A ferry can take up to four cars or twenty motorcycles ($10 for a motorcycle).

Neat old ferry! We still have two ferries which ply the Willamette River which flows through the heart of our state. They operate in rural areas where there is a long distance between bridges. At the western terminus for this ferry, there is a great distillery right up the road.

Just found these pics - they are full of character Alex! Everybody should ride a ferry at least once in their life! I've been on one for certain (about 1 hour away) and perhaps one out of state when I was a little kid. I like your Outback too, even the color is great! It's on my 'shortlist' for when the time comes.
