Tojeiro Jaguar - Tourist Trophy, Goodwood 1959.The only time Jim Clark ever drove for David Murray’s team. He partnered one of his early inspirations, Maston Gregory.
At least Clark got to drive the car.
However their efforts came to nought when an over ambitious Gregory stuffed it into the bank. Olivier Gendebien following in a Ferrari witnessed him stand up with released seatbelts to ensure he was thrown clear.
Obviously I needed this car in the collection. More about that later!

It should have been Tom, but I missed out! I was confident but was outbid. Pinko is not considered one of the best out there but this one is a bit of a sleeper, should have bid more. Rennaiscance made a kit which seems long gone. I will keep searching, but also hope that one of our members can help me out. Happy to pay accordingly.

I may have one in my spares Stewart, I will need to look. Be patient though. I am still trying to move the part of my collection I had to put in my workshop during my garage rebuild. Spares are a bit buried, but will get to them early in the week. I will PM you.

Prompted by your post I went looking for the Tojeiro Stewart. I didn't find one, but as a result of my searching I did find a very nice Pinko Maserati that is now on its way to me .

Aston Martin DBR4: 1960Jim Clark tested the Aston Martin DBR4 race car in January 1960 and was signed up to race it for that season alongside drives for Lotus in F2 and Formula Junior. The rear engined Aston was already outdated and even the updated DBR5 was never competitive so Jim Clark was relieved when Reg Parnell graciously released him from the contract to race the Lotus 18 F1 car for Chapman. And the rest is history. Ron built this SMTS 1/43 white metal model for me. And into the cabinet next to the Gemini, his first ever single seater outing.

When someone says "Aston Martin DB4", I think of the closed coupe predecessor to the DB5 and DB6 rather than an open wheeler. Still, it's an interesting addition (though personally I'd prefer to see an actual number in the middle of those roundels).

I think you might have meant "front-engined" Aston. Regardless of being outdated and poor results, I think it may have been the best looking front-engine F1 car. I too have the SMTS version, which was the only one available (?) forever. Spark has announced a Shelby driven version of the DBR4-250 from British GP, so will have both team cars from that race to go with the transporter I still need to build. Great add! Not sure how much you know about the DBR4 Ian, but it was built on a modified DB3S chassis and used the same 2.4L engine. So a strong pedigree. It was too bad Aston did not get their stuff together earlier to race it in 1958, or even most of the 1959 season. Only ran four F1 races in 1959 and by then was still too heavy and quickly outdated. Too much focus on sportscars and winning Le Mans perhaps?
