More re-posts about another non-concept and almost concept, probably the best Porsche ever made:
A comparison of Porsche 959 Gruppe B, both are made by Spark [SE], the original release appeared in around 2013 (when I got it), and the re-edition of the model appeared in 2016/2017 as Porsche Museum [DE] edition. Besides the packacking (the Spark edition comes in a regular Spark box while the Dealer edition comes in a "Minichamps" type of case), there are some minor details among the models, which make a substantial difference for such modelcar geeks as myself:
First, you can appreciate that the DE has a tad darker/bit more "cream" shade of the pearl white:
Next, front part reveals further details: DE edition has a better proportioned Porsche shield (and in a more correct position), also the headlamps covers have correct 4 fixing points (SE), and the wipers are looking the opposite directions. Interestingly, the original car's presentations pictures show the wipers pointing to the left or driver's side (as SE model), while in all recent photos the car appears to have the wipers pointing to the right or passenger's side (DE model):
The rear part also shows some differences: the light bar has black contour which looks close to the real car and the exhaust pipes look better shaped on the DE model. They look a bit oversized but they are true to the car..
Side by side comparison also shows that the DE has blackened wheel discs which make it look closer to the real car and therefore makes it "more detailed".
Finally, the interior is all black on both models, and the only distinguishing part that I noticed is that the DE has a fire extinguisher in front of the passenger seat while SE has nothing.
Needless to say, I kept my DE model and SE is sold long ago
Other comparison pictures I took the same day.. Minichamps Porsche 959 Komfort (silver; 4-seater, double mirrors) vs. Spark Porsche 959 Sport (white; 2-seater, single mirror)
The Spark version also has decals decoration on the seats (difficult to photograph), and although they seem to be different versions of the same car, I decided to stick only to 1 (Spark). The Porsche lettering on the rear light bar looks inexistant on the Spark but in fact it is very subtle and my camera did not capture it well..
And I couldn't resist to match the Spark 959 Sport + Spark DE Gruppe B...
