4 door Novas were a thing and sold very well. I often wondered what this generation of Nova would have looked like as a wagon. Never thought of that Jeff, good question. Imagine an 'estate' version of the first generation Cadillac Seville - could have been magnificent!

I remember those Chevy Novas, they were very popular in Mexico too! Although, I must confess that I never really liked them. I preferred their next generation.

I believe a four door Nova was available in the USA throughout the entire run, so the body shell, etc. tooling existed from when that generation was made here. Two doors were always more popular. Did they make a Nova wagon in Argentina? Sí Señor, no Señor! There were 4 doors Novas in US. There was no Nova wagon in Argentina. 4 door Novas were a thing and sold very well. I often wondered what this generation of Nova would have looked like as a wagon. Yep, my mistake! I had allways thought that the four door novas were an argentine invention. 4 door Novas were a thing and sold very well. I often wondered what this generation of Nova would have looked like as a wagon. Never thought of that Jeff, good question. Imagine an 'estate' version of the first generation Cadillac Seville - could have been magnificent! It would have been a muscle, good looking state, indeed. I remember those Chevy Novas, they were very popular in Mexico too! Although, I must confess that I never really liked them. I preferred their next generation. Hi Julio, I knew the next generation from the PW mexican models, is was very nice!

BONUS TRACK: Chevy TC - partwork Now that you have known the road Chevys, it is a good opportunity to meet a current TC Chevy. Believe or Not! Gentlemen, let me introduce the argentine Nascar! This is the 2016 evolution of a Nova. However, honestly, there is very little Chevy in inside this car. The sucesive regulations of the class and technical evolutions replaced the engine, the lower body, the laterals, and finally, the upper body. Anyway, it is really impressive, although it resembles a crushed cockroach. That's All Folks! Gaucho Man

I like your cockroach, it looks purposeful.
Honestly, a lot of racing series have ended up like this. The cars only vaguely (if at all) resembling road cars, with a spaceframe covered by a silhouette body and often identical engines. I get that you want to remove inequalities and make racing all about drivers competing- but I find it hard to enthuse about a car that has another maker's engine and that has nothing to do with the road car it's supposed to resemble. That said, occasionally these look very good and if you want to document local racing over the decades it's important to have at least one model.

I like the back a lot more than the front. Was it Nova based?

Next time I squash a cockroach, I'll mount it on a plinth and see if I can sell it on ebay as a racer like this . Do you follow the Argentine TC 2000 Championship these days?

Sí Señor, you have described all the evolution of the TC class. In our case there are a lot of opinions, some love the new cars, and others miss the old cars, so they keep on discussing whenever a change is suggested, so the changes take years... Nice Chevy TC, what engine does it have? Frankly speaking, I cannot tell you. I knew there was a unified motor, may be based on a Toyota design and produced in US, but I am not sure. I like the back a lot more than the front. Was it Nova based? No, not at this moment. Moreover, I do not think it has a single Nova part. (read Tom's comment, quoted above, it summarizes the background of the car) Next time I squash a cockroach, I'll mount it on a plinth and see if I can sell it on ebay as a racer like this . Do you follow the Argentine TC 2000 Championship these days? Marketing theory states that anyting thay you put on sale, will be purchased some day, by someone. Applies to racing cockroaches too! Frankly, I do not follow any race. I love cars, I love technics and diecast, but I do not like races. Too much sun, too much noise, too much time. Sorry!

Varela Andino GT This is a product of the happy days (circa 1967), the plan was to produce a cheap car to enable young drivers enter into the races. Chasis featured a central beam as the Lotus Elan. As you can see in picture above, it was very small. The first units were made of metal and featured mechanic from the Renault Dauphine (850 cc). Later it was made in fiberglass with Renault 12 engine (1400cc). We can estimate 110 units produced, some of them sold as CKD kits. I do not think any of these 110 units ever took part in a race, so I label it as "road car". The model is a surprise from Salvat Inolvidables partwork. That's All Folks! Gaucho Man
