There might be more work going into this than on the 1:1!

Seeing this reminds me of the joy of learning and how a bit of mechanical engineering came into my life. I certainly learnt alot about the combustion engine from making Tamiya kits.

Like all the different shades, correct for the original I assume. Looks very convincing and delicate in 1:24.

There might be more work going into this than on the 1:1! They didn't have to do as much painting! Seeing this reminds me of the joy of learning and how a bit of mechanical engineering came into my life. I certainly learnt alot about the combustion engine from making Tamiya kits. I hear you. The big scale Tamiya F1 kits were my manuals on how it all went together (albeit badly by me back then)
Building one of them taches you the joy of suspension too
Can't wait till you get the engine on the dyno! I'll need to buy a 1/24th dyno first! Looking quite nice and very promising… Why thank you sir Like all the different shades, correct for the original I assume. Looks very convincing and delicate in 1:24. So I'm going OTB on this, and I'm using the Tamiya recommendations (and their paints) which means the paints will be as close to the original as their stock paints are if that makes sense

Coming together nicely! This is where it went wrong for many of my old kits, having assembled and painted the interior and body and finding out the interior didn't fit. I didn't know about test-fitting then...

Coming together nicely! This is where it went wrong for many of my old kits, having assembled and painted the interior and body and finding out the interior didn't fit. I didn't know about test-fitting then... Thanks Tom Yes, test fitting is pretty vital before trying the glue. Luckily with Tamiya you can for the most part rely on their engineering if you don't. Other makes less so
A little more progress
Drivers seat fitted
Floor plan in booth for the silver sections
Gearstick and linkage added

All those different colours enhance the detail. You're going at quite the pace, how many hours a day do you spend building on average?

Nice results, so far! This thread is reminding me of the days, quite frustrating days, when I tried to build a couple of models, back during the late 70s early 80s!
