This is looking fantastic Andy! I like that the instructions give painting guide on components. That saves a lot of research time and guess work. Great job!

Nice work! I suspect that for good cover you will need to add a few more coats of blue... Thanks Tom. Yes it's an absolute minimum of two coats but usually three Your model is beginning to looking great! Cheers Julio This is looking fantastic Andy! Thanks, Jerry Tamiya have always been pretty good on colour calls, though sometimes they go for their nearest paint colour from their range.

Great job!
It was, precisely during the painting process, that most of the models I tried to build, 40 or so years ago, turned disastrous! 😬

Especially when your masking job didn't turn out as good as Andy's or when you were too impatient to wait for the paint to dry and put a few fingerprints in it? That's what I remember...
Nice work Andy, going at quite the speed now!

I hear you as i've had plenty of painting disasters over the years. It's a critical stage of course and getting it wrong usually means major work

Nice work Andy, going at quite the speed now! Me too and it seems my masking could be better still looking at the close ups!
Cheers Tom
Thank you very much sir
Further progress
Rear spoiler in the booth

Excellent as always, looking more like a cpmpleted car than a kit by now, the dash is especially nice.

Excellent as always, looking more like a cpmpleted car than a kit by now, the dash is especially nice. Thank you sir Next stage really moves it along that road
Rear bodywork pieces together and painting the oil tank filler neck
Rear lights added
Front of the body mated to the chassis. Took some time this. Modern car kits usually have tabs and slots to secure the body to the chassis but as this is an old kit it requires glue as there are no fixing points
Windscreen added
Headlamp covers added
Rear bodywork attached - Now this does clip fit and fits well as you can see
Decals next

First decal pass completed, which included those that either require the body together to align them or those that go across the two body parts. Had to cut the decal to remove the piece that went over the NACA duct and the two tiny fins just behind the windscreen. Fiddly
