Neat job! I like restoring stuff, especially when I can use it frequently.

Cool! It’s really satisfying to unexpectedly find things that got lost long time ago! It was a surprise to see them but I was sad to see the condition. Neat job! I like restoring stuff, especially when I can use it frequently. I consider it a good save. We use these for opening bags of bird seed that we keep in the deck box. So they have one easy job to do. Thanks, happy that they are found and usable again.

That vinegar soaking trick is heavily used by my Dad Jeff. Our tools in the garage here are very hard to protect from the salt, even with the Eastward door closed 98% of the time...

It seems I have indeed been bitten by the Swiss Army Knife bug. My wife and I enjoy going to Flea Markets and Antique Malls and there is usally a good selection of knives. Most times the prices are outrageous but somethimes you find a good deal. Here are a few that i have added over the last few months,=. Tinker from the 80s but unused. A pristine Cadet, my new favorite My latest, a Pioneer X I also picked up an unused Kershaw from 1982 for the sum of $8 at a community garage sale. My very first knife was a Cub Scout camp knife. I cannot locate is but found a identical substitute at a flea market, I should have taken a before picture as it was rough.

Very cool Swiss army knives. There's just something cool about them, multiple tools in one handy package. Got mine in the 80's and enjoyed watching MacGyver using similar one in the tv-show Additionally I have Victorinox multitool with 27 functions, but haven't taken photos of it. I really should take pics of it some day. Other than these, I just have couple of regular single tool type knives.

Very nostalgic Jeff! It seems the 1980s were THE years for Swiss Army knives? I must have received about 3 as gifts during that era. I know thereis at least one 'tucked away'. Everything I own short of a toothbrush is tucked away, ahaha!
Indeed, the 'right' Flea market is a fun experience. My maternal Grandmother was like a wizzard at finding rare things at them. She even got me my first Models of Yesteryears new in the box at one in PA back in the 70s!

Every time i look at this thread considering the laws here on such things i'm really tempted to dig out my cutlery and take a picture of that along with a bread knife

Those are very nice, Jeff! I totally get the Swiss army knife bug, they're superb tools. Very versatile and good quality. I just love something so useful and with so much history that can be bought so cheaply and is also very easily repaired if needed. I saw a website that had all of the models he used on the show, I guess he changed them out very frequently. Would love to see your other one. I wish my Cub Scout knife had survived. Nice find Jeff! What I would really like to find is my original one. It has to be around somewhere. Very nostalgic Jeff! It seems the 1980s were THE years for Swiss Army knives? I must have received about 3 as gifts during that era. I know thereis at least one 'tucked away'. Everything I own short of a toothbrush is tucked away, ahaha! She even got me my first Models of Yesteryears new in the box at one in PA back in the 70s! Maybe for our age the 80's is the decade to pick from? I know what you mean about the Flea Markets, most of them have made the jump to "Antique Malls" where everything has an inflated price because its "Vintage" Very few good ones and even less sellers who understand that a sale is better than dragging the crap back home. Thanks! Every time i look at this thread considering the laws here on such things i'm really tempted to dig out my cutlery and take a picture of that along with a bread knife Being in the UK you better just show butter knives. 2 other recent arrivals I neglected to show above as these are brand new. First is a Chinese knock off of a Buck 119 that is sold at tool discounter Harbor Freight. I watched a million reviews and it seems to really deliver more than its asking price. The fit and finish is excellent and the price off $23 all in was too good to pass up. The lower one is 4 times the cost of the top one but has an excellent reputation and a no haggle lifetime warranty that even covers abuse. I won a Amazon gift card at work so I got this knife and the Ferrari 312 model. Esee Izula II

Great choices Jeff! While the Harbor Freight is example is more to my budget, the smaller example is an absolute beacon of beautiful design - form AND function.
