My annual model census since 2015. I thought that would put all of the models that I received in 2015 on the table to see what it looked like. Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr Turns out that there were 49 models (which is more than I expected) and they break out like this Decades: 1909-1929: 3 1930's: 4 1940's: 2 1950's: 5 1960's: 5 1970's: 14 1980's: 6 1990's: 5 2000 - 2016: 5 Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr Geography: Europe: 23 N American 13 Australia: 10 Brazil: 3 Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr Model Brands: IXO & Premium X: 6 Part-work Series: 9 Minichamps: 3 Whitebox: 2 Trax: 7 Neo: 4 Vangaurds/Corgi: 4 Biante & Auto Art: 3 Norev: 3 Other: 5 Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr The four Vangaurds models that I bought in 2015. I used to buy lots of Vangaurds models, but by now I'm feeling that I have almost everything they've done that I interested in. Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr The three Minichamps that I bought in 2015. A few years ago Minichamps was the backbone of my collection, but not so much any more. Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr The four Neos that I bought in 2015. With Model Car World's steep discounts, more Neos are making their way into my collection. Class of 2015 by Michael, on Flickr 2016 Focus RS by Norev meets 1909 Model T by IXO.

By decade -- 1930s: 4, 1950s: 7, 1960s: 20, 1970's: 12, 1980's: 8, 1990's: 3, 2000's: 4, 2010's: 4 Class of 2016 by Michael, on Flickr Seen in this photo are some of the 69 models that I added to my collection in 2016. By country of origin (of the model depicted) the breakout like this; North America: 19, Germany/Europe: 15, UK: 12, Brazil: 9, Australia: 9, France: 1, South Africa: 1 (that's the green Cortina S 3.0 in the photo above) Class of 2016: IXO by Michael, on Flickr The most models from one manufacturer is IXO (all brands) with 18 models. Class of 2016: Brazilian Partworks by Michael, on Flickr I am grateful to my friend in Brazil who sent me most of these Brazilian models. Class of 2016: Premium X by Michael, on Flickr Only three Premium X models last year. Class of 2016: Whitebox by Michael, on Flickr Four Whitebox models. Last night I took my annual model census for 2017, down from 69 models collected in 2016 to 39 collected this year (which was a goal). 1:43 Model Census, 2017 by Michael, on Flickr Grand Total 39 models: IXO Sourced: 14 Neo: 9 Trax: 3 Whitebox: 3 (counted as IXO) Minichamps/Maxichamps: 3 Vangaurds/Corgi: 2 BoS: 2 First Responder: 2 Norev: 1 Motorhead: 1 Auto Cult: 1 Greenlight: 1 I've decided that the 1936 White Glacier National Park Tour Bus parked in the back isn't officially part of the collection. 1:43 Model Census, 2017 by Michael, on Flickr Breaking them out by decades: 2010s: 4 2000s: 2 1990s: 4 1980s: 4 1970s: 8 1960s: 10 1950s: 3 1940s: 2 1930s: 1 1920s: 1 1:43 Model Census, 2017 by Michael, on Flickr By region The Americas: 18 Europe: 16 Australia: 4 1:43 Model Census, 2017 by Michael, on Flickr It seems like I'm collecting more America style Fords, which I think is due to more being available (and having reached a saturation point for many European Ford models). Another trend is the growing number of resin vs diecast. I see tha IXO based models were popular with me -- mostly bought from E-bay sellers and marked down Neo models bought from American Excellence came in second. Long time stalwart brands like Minichamps, Vangaurds, and Trax continue to decline, largely because they are not producing that many new Ford models (or in the case of Trax -- affordable Ford models). 1:43 Model Census, 2017 by Michael, on Flickr IXO (PCT) sourced models. 1:43 Model Census, 2017 by Michael, on Flickr Neo models

The 2019 annual model census photos:1:43 Annual Model Census 2019 by Michael, on Flickr With 53 models added to the collection, my attempt to slow down in 2019 was overrun by enthusiasm late in the year. I know for sure that I don’t have another 53 “parking spots” remaining so something will need to change in 2020. Breakdown By Company: IXO Sourced: 28 This includes part works (24), Premium X (1) and Whitebox (2) Trax: 5 Goldvarg: 4 Neo: 4 Corgi/Vangaurds: 2 Greenlight: 2 Sommerville: 2 One each from the following: Ace, Esval, GFCC, GLC, Landsdowne, Minichamps. By Decades 1920s: 1 1930s: 4 1940s: 3 1950s: 6 1960s: 11 1970s: 8 1980s: 13 1990s: 6 2010s: 1 By Regions North America: 26 South America: 11 Europe: 10 Australia/Asia: 6 Wow only one Minichamp and only two Corgi/Vangaurds. Those used to be the backbone of my collection, but I guess that area of my collection is pretty much saturated. The trend in my collection is towards the Western Hemisphere. Latin American partworks and high end models like Esval and Goldvarg are becoming my focus. Also the lack of new promotional models becoming available is really skewing the average age of the models I collected. 1:43 Annual Model Census 2019 by Michael, on Flickr I've decided to create some annual award categories: Award Winners: Model of the Year! Model of the Year award goes to the 1933 Ford Model 40 Roadster by Esval. There are a number of runners up, but this model is perfection! Best Deal of the Year: E494A Ford Prefect by Sommerville. If not for a missing door handle I would not have been able to afford this. A super nice model that fills an important niche in my collection. Most Anticipated Model: 1982-91 Ford Falcon Ghia by IXO (Salvat PW). I've always been fascinated by the long life of the original Falcon in Argentina. When I started seriously collecting 1:43 scale models ten years ago, I would never have imagined that someday there would be a model of this car. But then when Salvat announced the Argentine partwork series a couple of years back, I knew it was just a matter of time. Poorest Execution: XF Ford Falcon GL by Trax (other than the front, the rest of the model is fine). 1:43 Annual Model Census 2019 by Michael, on Flickr Oldest and Newest: 1929 Model AA from Whitebox and 2018-up Transit Custom by Greenlight. 1:43 Annual Model Census 2019 by Michael, on Flickr What I paid the most and the least for in 2019. 1:43 Annual Model Census 2019 by Michael, on Flickr

Time for my 2020 Annual Model Census.Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr What ever else one migt say about 2020, it was a good year in the model collecting department. At the end of the year I like to put all the models purchased during the year and analyze them. Forty-two models in all and the stats break out as follows: REGION North America: 20 South America: 7 Europe: 10 Australia: 5 DECADE 1920’s: 1 1930’s: 1 1940’s: 2 1950’s: 5 1960’s: 14 1970’s: 8 1980’s: 6 1990’s: 1 2000’s: 0 2010’s: 4 MANUFACTURER/BRAND IXO/Partworks: 15 Goldvarg: 4 Trax: 4 Vanguards: 4 Greenlight: 3 Neo: 3 Matrix: 2 Elligor, Minichamps, Motorhead, Sommerville, Signal 1, Spark: 1 Each Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr IXO/Partwork: x 15. I think everything except the French Ford Cargo is a partwork. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Goldvarg x 4. Up and coming on strong Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Trax x 4. The Trax haul was 100% resin this year. I'm really excited about their catalog. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Vanguards x 4. Long a mainstay of my collection and did well this year, two of these being new releases. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Greenlight x 3. Nice to see Greenlight expanding their 1:43 range. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Neo x 3. It seems like Neo has been introducing fewer Ford models in recent years. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Matrix x 2. This tripled the size of my Matrix collection. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Other x 5. (Elligor, Signal 1, Spark, Minichamps, and Sommervile) This is the first year that I've only purchased one Minichamps model. I'm nearly saturated with their past releases and no new 1:43 Fords have been offered for awhile now. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr 2020 Category Winners: Biggest Bargain: Ford Transit by Spark, Most Flawed: 1987+ Ford Escort XR3 by IXO (partwork), Most Anticipated: 1967 Ford GT Mk III by Matrix, and Favorite: 1968 Ford XL by Goldvarg. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Trucks x 8. Nice additions to my F-Series and Transit collections. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Ford Falcons x 5. Falcons did well this year. There are probably more Falcons in my collection than any other Ford model. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Ford GTs x 3. Also a fast growing category Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Military x 2. This doubled the size of my military model collection. If I ever add any more I hope is a Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) truck. Class of 2020 by Michael, on Flickr Resin Models x 16. About 40% what what I bought in 2020.

Time for my 2021 annual model census of what I bought/acquired in the last year. Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr The annual census of what I bought during the past year. Forty-four models in all and the stats break out as follows: REGION North America: 14 Europe: 10 + 1 Australia: 10 South America: 9 DECADE 1930’s: 1 1940’s: 2 1950’s: 4 1960’s: 15 1970’s: 6 1980’s: 4 + 1 1990’s: 3 2000’s: 3 2010’s: 4 2020's: 1 MANUFACTURER/BRAND PCT (IXO + Part-Works): 21 Trax: 7 Neo: 3 Motorhead: 2 Biante/Paradise Garage: 2 Elligor, Minichamps, Corgi-Vanguards, Spark, Goldvarg, Classic Carlectible, Norev, TSM, and Modimio Engineering: 1 Each Number of Resin Cast Models: 12 Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr PCT (IXO + Part-Works) x 21 Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Trax x 7 Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Neo x 3 Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Biante and Paradise Garage x 2. I think these are connected brands. Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr One each of the following: Spark, Corgi-Vanguards, Norev, Classic Carlectable, Eligor, Minichamps, and Modimio Engineering (the 1980's Soviet Auto Transporter). Missing in this photo are the single Goldvarg and TSM. Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Class Winner: Most Disappointing -- 1941 Ford RAF Station Wagon by (not sure who made it, PCT I guess). This Canadian Ford is a great subject for modeling, but unfortunately it is noticeably over sized. Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Class Winners for Best Bargain: Free Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Class Winner: Most Anticipated - Ford Escort Sundowner by Trax. I've long though this would be a great subject for Trax to model and I bought one as soon as it was issued. Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr Class Winner: Favorite -- 1963 Ford Fairlane by Trax. Even though the wheels could use more detailing, this is just my favorite model of 2021. Class of 2021 by Michael, on Flickr
