Very nice Andy, classic colour combo of Zermatt silver with the blue interior. I used to have the Chinese version in 1:18 (with working lights and horn) but this is undeniably the better model. Thanks Tom I went for this as it was the closest to the one my old man had back in the 80s though I struggle to remember the interior colour on the 1/1, but it was nearly 40 years ago
Absolute groundbreaking design. I know Euro Ford when 'aero' at the same time, but this design just seems more far more elegant and polished. Tom is right, silver/blue is a great color combo just as the frost green look so nice on this car's predecessor. I often say I am not really an 'Audi fan', but in this era they could do no wrong It was groundbreaking and combined with decent build and reliability it tempted my old man out of British cars (along with i think many many others) The 80s were without doubt Audi best era
Very nice model of a beautiful, iconic and unforgettable car from the eighties! Excellent addition, Andy! Very much so Julio
Cheers

Audi launched the third generation of the 80 in late 1986 and if differed from its predecessors by having rounded aerodynamic styling along with a fully galvanized bodyshell and the Procon-Ten safety system all wrapped up with the now familiar tag line of Four Sprung Dwarf Technique. At launch power was provided by a range of engines mostly carried over from the B2 but with the addition in some cases of fuel injection which in petrol form started with the base I4 1.6 and went via a couple of 18.8 I4 variants up to the 1.9 litre I5, and it could also be had with a 1.6 litre I4 diesel. There was a single saloon body style and whilst all were FWD as standard, some models could be specified as a Quattro with 4WD plus the engine options changed throughout the lifecycle including the addition of a turbo diesel. Production lasted until 1991 with a little under 1.5 million units produced when a major facelift combined with significant other changes justified a new variant, the B4.

Lovely model in Lago metallic. This one's on my shortlist to reduce to 1:43 since nobody else seems to tackle that...

There might be a chance of that 90, seeing as they've done the 80 already.

Nice model and car!
I remember when we got one of those Audis, in Ford of Europe’s Cologne studio, back in early 1987. We were all quite impressed!

I had a 'few' of those Audis and I was more than impressed, they're rock solid cars.

As you should have been. They were miles ahead of the contemporary Ford offerings at the time. And time is the evidence as you still see these around even the base models.

By 1995 The Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI was in its third season of DTM which and in addition was eligible for the first season under the International Touring Car series which had more or less the same rules. Chassis 005 was built by Alfa Corse for the 1995 season and delivered to the Alfa satellite Euroteam and was driven throughout the season in both championships by Michael Bartels by unfortunately the season was blighted by poor reliability however but nonetheless when all was working well the combination proved competitive particularly at the Diepholz round where Bartels took pole position and victory in both rounds, but this was the highlight of the season for both Bartels and the team. Bartels would finish 10th overall in DTM and 26th in ITC however his two wins made a valuable contribution to the manufacturers' championship in which Alfa claimed 2nd in both.

Wow, that looks epic! I usually prefer these in factory or Martini livery, but it wears Jäger orange very well indeed.

Whoever could you mean Julio? 😁.
I have some questions Andy, if I may.
Firstly, what is the quality of the model like? I have looked a a few of these Werk83 155s but have not hit buy on any as yet. There prices seem similar to a mid or up market 1:43 which has made me wonder just how good they are. I also don’t need to develop another obsession.
Also, do you know the story behind the “Jager-Tonic” logos. I have 1:43s of Michael Bartels 155s from 1994, 1995, and 1996 and they all carry “Jagermeister” wording. Is the “Tonic” logo from a particular race or is it a way to get around alcohol sponsorship on a “toy”?

Of course Martin, no problem
Quality is fine - it's no AA but i'd rate it a little bit better than the Ixo/Triple 9 offerings and not quite up there with Minichamps. It's very good value for money i think
It's from the ITC round in Helsinki but as to why it's Tonic at that round and Meister at all the others i don't know
