Introduced in 1972 to continue the line of four seat Ferraris that had started with the 250 GT/E in 1959, the 365 GT4 2+2 featured three box styling from Pininfarina which was a distinct break from the fastback styling of the previous 4 seaters. Utilising a lengthened tubular steel chassis from the 365 GTC/4 clothed in a steel body with a fibreglass floor, it was powered by the type F101 Columbo V12 which produced 335hp from its 4.4 litres which drove the rear wheels via a 5 speed box. 524 would be produced before production ended in1976 in favour of the near identical 400

I've always thought this a very balanced and restrained design. Really classy. Green metallic looks super on it too, great model!

First shown at the Paris Motor Show in 1980, the Coupe was based like the Quattro on the B2 Audi 80 platform, however it was a cheaper alternative to Quattro as it didn't have the turbocharged engine, permanent four-wheel drive or the extended arches. Initially offered with a selection of engines ranging from a 1.6 litre four through a 1.9 litre five to a 2.1 litre five, all with front-wheel drive the range would be facelifted in 1984 and expanded to include four-wheel drive and upgraded engines including the 1.8 litre four from the Golf Gti plus a 2 & 2.2 litre five and then finally the 2.3 litre five. Production ceased in 1988 after around 175,000 had been built of which, 8000 were quattro 4wd versions.

As soon as I saw pictures of that I thought 'Andy's going to get that'. Same goes for the 80 quattro which I assume is next. Fantastic model of a great car Andy, deserves a place in your collection.

You were right Tom, I had to have it, being a big fan of the Coupe. I didn't go for the 80 quattro (in silver) as I already have the red one they released a while back. That’s a great looking model! Very nice addition to your collection, Andy! Thank you Julio

Like the 43 it feels a bit square. Not enough to overly bother me Very nice looking model of a very attractive, ageless car! It is that Julio

Fantastic car in a great colour. I've seen only one of these so far- I guess a used Ferrari is a better proposition at that price.
