Same. I've found many interesting books for next to nothing.

An impressive selection Julio. I occasionally visit our local Charity shops and check out their 'Transport' section. British steam trains and aircraft - especially Concorde - books are of most interest to me. Newest one acquired last week was even signed by the author, albeit with a dedication to it's original recipient. Thank you, Ian! And, what’s that newest one about? Same. I've found many interesting books for next to nothing. I’ve bought many books during my trips to Texas. There’s a great bookstore called “Half Price Books” that sells used and out of print books, that I love visiting. I’ve found lots of books (and CDs) there, usually at amazingly low prices! Unfortunately, there’s nothing like them here where I live in Mexico. Books are very expensive here and the very few local second hand bookstores that we have have very few books that interest me!

My latest book is 'The Concorde Story' by Christopher Orlebar (Ex Concorde Pilot/Captain now deceased). It was the fifth Edition (Printed 2002) with revisions which is ok, but final volume is actually the seventh edition. At GB 3.50 it was cheap enough and well preserved for its age.
I have another 'The Concorde Story' by Neil Kelly printed in 2005 and which I bought new GBP18 by a different publisher.
My interest in the aircraft stretches back to the early 1960s as I lived just 15 miles from BAC and Rolls-Royce Aero Engine Division and had school friends who went on to join and work at those companies. I recall seeing the Avro Vulcan with one RR Concorde engine slung below it as part of the pre-production testing.
In April 1969 I had the day off work to watch the Maiden Flight of Concorde 002 as it landed at RAF Fairford.
UK Concordes were all withdrawn from service in November 2003. Before that sad day I was fortunate to fly on it from New York to London in August 2003. I witnessed the three Concordes flying into London Heathrow, then went to Bristol for Concorde coming home and touching down for the very last time at Filton.

It’s really nice to know that you flew on the Concorde! My paternal grandparents almost did, when the Concorde was flying to Mexico City, back in the 70s, but my grandfather decided to spend that money on something else during their trip, but I’ve forgotten the details of that story. I only saw it once, very briefly, in one of the airports in Paris, back in 1978. I remember that it was very small!

I was in a Concorde in an aircraft museum in the UK in the 1970s. Very small indeed.

Recently added… 150A thick, beautifully made catalog that looks like a book. It’s a gift from my brother who is participating in this art exhibition in Mexico City!
