These books were added to my collection in 1995… 58A gift from a friend, this book is about how different artists have painted the Mexican landscape through the years. 59Quite an interesting book about the use of plastics in product design! 60A thoroughly enjoyable book about contemporary art! Another one from Taschen, an excellent publisher!

I have similar books about industrial design. I like them a lot.

I think I do, yes. Quite a few are Dutch-centric and published by others though.

The only addition to my library in 1996… 61A gift from a friend, although I’ve never been a big fan of Picasso’s work…

I guess Picasso isn’t popular at all around here… This book was bought in San Antonio (Texas), in July of 1997: 62A delightful, very informative, fun to read book! I wish they had written similar versions about the kings and queens of different countries, especially Spain and France!

Sorry Julio, not a fan of Picasso- give me Hieronymus Bosch or Salvador Dali for a dose of absurdity. Also not into royalty, but I guess it's a good history book too.

Thanks for your comments, Tom! I also prefer Bosch or Dalí to Picasso!

Also from 1997… Bought in San Antonio (Texas), in December of 1997: 63The second book that I bought from this excellent series by Dover. This one is particularly interesting, with famous ships like the Titanic and the Lusitania included! 64One more book from this fabulous series! Incredibly entertaining, filled with wonderful photos! 65A delightful, interesting and very informative book on this subject! 66This is a great book, filled with biographies of composers and their most important work. It includes some very helpful recommendations about what to listen to.

Not into classical music, but I have several books on different pop music themes. Those ocean liners books look good- I read some stuff on the Titanic recently and must confess that I liked it a lot.

I'm with Tom on the Classical Music thing - I keep saying I'm not old enough for it, even though I probably am. I think I need to work through jazz first . You do have a fantastic collection of books Julio, and a wide variety of interests.

I also have a couple of books on more commercial music that will be shown, eventually. I truly enjoy my ocean liner books! If you ever decide to get one, get one of the books published by Dover, they’re really entertaining! LOL…old enough! 😅😅😅 I began enjoying classical music when I was about 15, it was hard rock and heavy metal that I never liked!

All of these were added to my library in 1998: 67Another great Dover book about the Rolls-Royce of passenger shipping companies! Bought in San Antonio, Texas. And, these two were bought at a bookstore here, in Guadalajara: 68This is a wonderful, extremely delightful book about the many faces of contemporary art! 69Another excellent book from Taschen! This one is a very interesting work about eroticism in art. 70This is more than a book about decorating, it’s really a time capsule. It was a gift from my mother, it was hers and it’s in amazing, original, condition! A fabulous glimpse into the late fifties! These three were bought at the FIL (the huge international book fair that takes place in Guadalajara every year): 71I bought this big, heavy book, mainly because of the varied fabulous photos of famous baroque buildings, but it also includes lots of paintings and sculptures. It’s definitely quite enjoyable! 72A very basic and somewhat boring book about how to draw the human figure. 73This book is about the work of this famous German photographer. Looking at some of his photos makes you think how little the world has changed in the last 30 years. 74An extremely helpful and pretty enjoyable book, filled with interesting tips and techniques.

Gee Julio, I know who to ask if I have any ocean liner-related questions- you seem to have that subject covered. I like the art books but the surprise here is the '50s book. I love to have those as source books when I'm trying to evoke a period atmosphere. My parents threw away several similar books from the '60s and '70s and I wish I still had them.
